Robyn Rhodes was one of my first clients out of college. Truth be told, I was hired as her assistant. Within virtually hours of being in the door, I made it clear that I had a vision for the company, and together and with a team of manufacturers, designers, stylists, and sales reps we charted new and invigorating territory.
Together we breathed new life into the company and the designs, and I spearheaded a complete brand redesign including my first e-commerce site. The company’s best selling collection hit when I was promoted to Creative Director, and within months we had sales with Anthropologie, JewelMint, and hundreds others, along with placements online at Vogue, Glamour, People Magazine, and continued television placements on The Bachelorette, The Voice, and Vampire Diaries.
My time at Robyn Rhodes was sacred, and gave me the first high level testing ground to play with my ideas, see what worked and what didn’t, and build a team mentality. And on the ground level, I learned what research and storytelling based on customer input meant.
